RCPJ-MAYMX8-002V2 RC-Project Aluminium Shock Caps V2 TNG - Mayako MX8
The whole project has been revised compared to the V1 shock caps, as the V2 TNG version can now work as either a bladder or emulsion style shock cap with all parts included in the packet. The inner chamber of the shock caps has also been re-designed, which maximises performance in either the bladder or emulsion configurations. In addition the caps now also feature 4 bleed holes rather than 3 as per V1 and also now uses a bespoke M2 bleed screw, specifically designed and purposed for the best seal and long life. In combination with the revised honeycomb style bladders, the new V2 TNG shock caps can also be built as a vented style shock cap by removing the bleed screw, giving multiple build options to dial in the shock package based on personal preference and track conditions.
As an added bonus, to ensure quick and easy rebound setting when building your shocks the V2 TNG Shock Caps also include RC-Projects own rebound tool, making these a great value option for anyone with a compatible chassis.
Features:
Allen Screw for Emulsion: after several disappointing tests with commercial screws, we decided to design and produce our own Allen screw for V2 Shock Caps.
Specifications:
- Material: Alloy steel with strength class 12.9 (1200 N/mm²)
- Coating: Nickel
- Design: we designed a groove at the end of the thread, so a small 0.6mm section O-ring can fit. This O-ring, compressing, will create a seal between the screw and the hole. Zero air or oil leaks guaranteed.
Emulsion Seals: the emulsion screw seal has a rectangular cross-section with a small pocket aimed to facilitate and speed up operations, this will also ensure that the seal is not damaged during the disassembly process.
Honeycomb Bladders: the bladders have been completely redesigned to work inside the new Shock Caps. Volumes, sections and hardness have been re-designed to have almost zero-rebound during assembly, and to limit as much as possible the rebound gain that normally happens after each run. The bladders have a concavity to make room to the piston retainer nut, so the up-travel isn’t limited (like happens with some other bladders). This innovative design also avoid any risk of damaging the bladder under heavy hits, maintaining a linear movement of the shaft.
Bumpy Bladders: this new option was not present in the previous V1 and was a big surprise for our test drivers. It is an in-between emulsion and honeycomb: not suited for all conditions but where they worked the results in terms of performances were amazing. The air side design provides an internal grid that connects and reinforces the central and lateral sides allowing the bladder to maintain its original shape even under big hits.
The oil side design shares the same honeycombs’ philosophy.
Includes:
4x Aluminium shock caps, 4x Emulsion style shock cap seals, 4x Honeycomb shock bladders (Medium). 4x Bumpy shock bladders (Medium), 4x Bleed screws w/o-rings & 1x Shock rebound tool.
Additional Bumpy and Honeycomb style shock bladders are available separately in Soft and Hard materials, which allows for even finer incremental tuning of rebound depending on driver or track preference.
